The Leipzig University Library announced on 21 July 2008 that the first part of the Codex Sinaiticus could be read on the internet by 24 July 2008. In May 2008, the Leipzig University Library presented a joint project with Microsoft and Xplain to digitise historic documents. Parts of the world’s oldest bible the Codex Sinaiticus are being digitised with silverlight technology and put on the internet. Parts of the 'Codex Sinaiticus’ are kept in Leipzig, London, Saint Petersburg and on mount Sinai. One of the aims of the project is to digitally put the bible back together. EPA/ WALTRAUD GRUBITZSCH
